a glimpse towards Sunday 10.23.15

Rainbows are beautiful things to behold. When was the last time you really soaked one in? This past summer I was able to sit beachside as a storm passed. The sun peeked through some huge, threatening clouds, and a gorgeous rainbow appeared. I was sure there actually WAS a pot of gold somewhere — or at least a bowl of Lucky Charms.

This Sunday we’re pouring over the first seventeen verses of Genesis chapter nine.
Our text is famous for where rainbows originated. We’ll be taking a dive into the REAL rainbow coalition between God and us.

Rainbows are so much more than a water prism of primary colors. They remind us of God’s epic, grand story. They remind us of brokenness and hope and restoration.
What do you think of when you see a rainbow?

This Sunday will be a very special gathering for CCC. If you, or a friend, have struggled mightily with why hard things happen, you should make our 9 & 11 a.m. gatherings a priority. If you’ve wondered how a great, loving God allows bad circumstances into your life, you should be here with a friend come Sunday.

Kevin Cash will be speaking. This will be a message you won’t soon forget. Kevin and his family have recently gone through devastating tragedy. In God’s timing, he’s ready to unpack his raw and honest heart for the Kingdom at Cumberland.
In all Kevin has endured and struggled through, he needed a rainbow.

You probably do too.

Using the authority of God’s Word to practically shape your Biblical worldview must happen in the bad as much as we allow it in the good.
Please come prepared for this one. Please invite a friend or family member. Pray for Kevin as he lays his life and heart out for God to work in all of our lives.

You are a great and gracious church. I’m proud to be one of the pastors at CCC.
Your commitment, love, service, worship, prayer, and giving allows the Bride to shine in our dark, hurting, and confusing.

Keep it up.

Blessings,
