a glimpse towards Sunday 9.13.13
Hebrews chapter eleven, verse one, should be as touted, memorized, and heralded as a John 3:16, Matthew 6:33, or Romans 12:1.
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see.”
How much faith do you have? What are you so sure of that hope abounds? What certainties beyond your eyesight are in absolute focus?
This Sunday will such a very special day at CCC. We’ve been calling it “Back To Church Sunday”. We’ll be unfolding the very special story of Tom McGuinness. Tom is a commercial airline pilot who attends CCC with his fiance’ Kristin. Tom’s dad was the pilot of American Airlines flight #11 — the first plane to be hijacked and flown into the World Trade Center on 9/11.
The layers upon layers of Tom and his family’s story are incredible. We’ve captured the specific dynamics of faith and a father’s legacy on film, and will unfold this very powerful story on Sunday morning. Tom and his family will be with us as well.
Yesterday, Tom and the staff watched the video for the first time on the big screens in our auditorium. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Tom’s faith is sure of what he hopes for, and certain of what he cannot see. It really is amazing.
I believe you need to experience this story of faith and a father’s legacy. I also believe you know someone who needs to hear this as well.
Please be praying. Please be inviting. I think this will be an excellent Sunday for friends and neighbors to come back to church. Please post on Facebook or send out an email saying:
