a glimpse towards Sunday 8.22.14

What would a church “moving rhythmically and easily” together look like?   Those are the words of Eugene Peterson as he creatively writes from Ephesians 4:13.

Do you think a church CAN move rhythmically and easily together? Most have experienced otherwise.

The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 4 how we are to be mature to the full measure of Jesus. What does THAT mean?

This Sunday is “Let’s Do It” Sunday. The emphasis will be on moving the church forward in mission, with community, saturated by the gospel, and dancing with rhythm and ease.  Let’s do this!

How would you like to be a part of a dynamic church where God adds to the number of saved people daily? Sound fun? Intriguing? Challenging? LET’S DO THIS!

This weekend we’ll be taking a one-week break from Genesis as we dive into Ephesians 4:11-16. As you walk into the kirche (German for church) building on Sunday, you’ll notice tables touting serving opportunities where you can BE the ekklesia instead of just going to kirche. You can turn the lights off inside a kirche. The light of Jesus is always on inside the ekklesia gathering of Jesus followers. Which would you rather be a part of?

On Sunday, everything will hinge on serving, maturity, and the gospel. I’m expecting God to continue teaching and leading us.

ADDITIONALLY… have you seen all the ALS ice bucket challenges online? Here’s the video challenge I did. I called YOU out … and Cumberland Community Church!

I hope on Sunday you’ll bring your white envelope with $10 marked ALS. However, we’ve decided to give all money donated to Steve Dezember and his family who live in Smyrna.

They’ve been hit directly with this deadly disease. Watch this video to catch a glimpse of Steve’s battle, and see where your $10 will be going:

I’m excited to be with you and teach. Thanks for allowing me to be your pastor. Let’s gather at 9 & 11 a.m. on Sunday. Come early to BE the church to each other. You’ll understand our Ephesians 4 passage even more!

Blessings On Your HOT Weekend,
