Ending Strong to Begin Strong

I trust your Christmas season has been a good one. I know that doesn’t necessarily mean smooth sailing for everyone—but the reality of God with skin can sure be our life’s most motivating and rescuing factor.

I know of some struggling marriages. I’m praying for the health of several whose reality is nothing short of desperate. However, Christmas is still good, because Jesus is. His presence through the warm glow of holiday gatherings or the harsh lights of hospitals is our strength and reason no matter what.

As I sit in single digit temps in southern Indiana, I’m staring into the new year knowing things are going to be heating up.

We’re going to have a month’s worth of mission focus in January—including Susan Norris on January 14th as she unpacks the stark reality of sex trafficking in our Atlanta backyard.

On January 21st, we’ll have a groundbreaking ceremony for our new transitional facility at our new property on South Cobb & Church Street. We’ll also give vision tours of our soon-to-be-renovated facility.

In February, we’ll start our new Sunday message series in I Peter.

March will usher us in the doors of Green Acres elementary school for a spectacular FIA. Our friend, Ashley Mize, is the Principal and she can’t wait for us to get there. There are such relational community needs at Green Acres.

In May, after I Peter concludes, we’ll be heading into a series through the great Old Testament book of Jeremiah. May will also see CCC, we hope, move onto our new property and begin renovations of our new campus.

In between all of this are life groups, mission trips to India, Kenya, and Greece, Fuel, Camp, VBX, Merge, and much more. And in between all of this is life where critical events can happen in your neighborhood, at work, in your kid’s sports leagues, and just down the road at Publix.

The Gospel will continue to be taught and pushed out from us. I’m hoping we’ll see our first church plant/site at some point in the new year.

2018 looks to be a great year at Cumberland Community Church. I’m thankful you’re along for the ride.

Because of what God is doing in all our lives and community, and because I’m not ashamed of the power of the Gospel—I’m asking you to help us finish the year strong through giving. How we end 2017 will determine how we’ll begin 2018.

There are three easy ways you can give. All tithes and offerings made on or before December 31st will be credited to this tax year. You can give:

1. Through the Cumberland app from your phone.
2. Through our web portal at: https://secure.subsplash.com/ui/access/XSPQTC
3. Mail checks to: Cumberland Community Church, 3110 Sports Ave., Smyrna, GA 30080 (all mailed checks must be postmarked on or before Dec. 31st)

Thanks for WHO you are and ALL you do. Thanks for praying. Thanks for giving.

See you in the new year, my friends.

Blessings,
