The Heart of the Matter
If I told you I was super-excited about Sunday’s message, would you think that was out of the ordinary for me? Would it sound like “blah, blah, blah” from the pastor’s Friday “blah, blah, blah” email?
But what if, on Sunday, we were really getting down to the heart of the matter?
What matters?
The church.
Jesus.
Good news.
“Sounds like blah, blah, blah to me, Pastor.”
But most churches these days are stuck. There must be a reason why the living organism called the Bride of Christ averages fewer than 75 attendees per week in America. Many people are also stuck. Seventy percent of Christians who attend church feel disconnected from God when they walk out. Is the reason just bad music or boring preaching, or could there be more?
What if this Sunday we really got down to the heart of the matter?
We will.
And what if you were given a Kingdom key to really unlock your life as well as the church?
You will.
I’m pumped to gather this Sunday at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. I have the great privilege of teaching week #8 of our nine-week, Gospel-Centered Life series. This one is all about forgiveness. Don Henley says it’s the heart of the matter. Jesus would agree. It’s why were stuck. It’s what keeps churches stuck. We GET to unlock it all come Sunday. Our text is Matthew 18:21-35.
I’ll see you there!
Blessings! (And are you being prompted for baptism on Nov. 12th?)
Alan
