Building Our Future Campus Renovation Updates

A Beacon of Hope.

At Cumberland, we are redeemed messy people pointing other messy people to the gospel of Jesus. If you've visited our church recently, you've probably noticed our campus grounds are living up to the "messy" part! But there's purpose in this season of construction – our ongoing renovations are paving the way for something beautiful!

While you see bulldozers and temporary fencing today, we see tomorrow's opportunities for ministry and fellowship. These improvements go far beyond updated buildings and a smoother parking lot. They're about creating spaces where lives are transformed, where families find their spiritual home, and where our community encounters the love of Christ.

As Cumberland continues to grow, we're stepping out in faith to develop a campus that will serve as a beacon of hope and belonging for generations to come.

Our vision is to build environments that radiate warmth and hospitality, create safe and engaging spaces for our children and youth, and offer flexible areas that serve both our church family and our neighbors. We believe these improvements will help us more effectively live out our vision to redeem lives, families, communities, and our world through the gospel.

This isn't just about construction – it's about cultivating a place where ministry flourishes without fail, where every person who walks through our doors feels welcomed home, and where God's transformative work can take deeper root in our community!

Five-Phase Renovation Plan

1. Kids Ministry / Communications & Media

Building 200 houses our Discover Kids Ministry for elementary students and is also home to TriQuest Christian Academy during the week. Renovations to this space were completed in November 2021.

Renovations included a floor plan reconfiguration, new plumbing infrastructure, flooring, paint, ADA accommodations, lighting upgrades, electrical upgrades, a new fire sprinkler system, and an immersive environmental design now referred to as Discovery Park.

The open floor plan adjacent to the two story building was reconfigured to include the construction of a video recording studio and a co-working space.

2. Windows & Roofing

All of the windows and glass doors in Building 100 (the building that faces South Cobb Dr.) were replaced in May 2022. The roof of Buildings 100 and 200 (which are conjoined) was replaced in December 2022.

3. Site Work

Our campus is currently undergoing site work in our parking lot. This phase includes extensive civil engineering: storm water drainage, regrading, curb and sidewalk installation, mill & repave, landscaping, and lighting.

4. Worship Center / NextGen

Building 100 houses our future worship center and preschool environment (main floor), student ministry environment (ground floor) and administrative and meeting spaces (top floor).

5. Exterior Design

The final phase will include facade updates, entryway enhancements, and clear wayfinding signage to improve the outward appearance of our campus and promote hospitality for our community.
